On Thanksgiving Day, MUST Ministries will hold its 7th Annual Gobble Jog, featuring a 1K, 5K a 10K run/walk and the Tot Trot (for kids 5 and under). The event will be Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Historic Marietta Square rain or shine. The Gobble Jog race is open to everyone – runners, walkers, children and adults. All proceeds benefit MUST Ministries, a faith-based organization that, for 38 years, has provided services to people in crisis. Following the race, MUST Ministries will serve a Thanksgiving feast for about 2,000 homeless and needy individuals and families. The 10K course is certified as a qualifier for seeding in the Peachtree Road Race and the U.S. 10K Classic. To register or for more information, visit www.gobblejog.org.

The Cobb Library Foundation will host an “Enchanted Evening of Jazz” 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at the historic Strand Theatre, 117 North Park Square, Marietta. The headliner, Freddy Cole, plays the piano, sings and performs live with guitar and upright bass, just like his brother Nat “King” Cole. His style has been compared to Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday and his vocals are among the most respected in jazz.
Dwight Anderson will also perform. Rev. Dr. Anderson is a senior minister at First Congressional Church and an associate professor of music theory at Emory University. Anderson is founder of the Atlanta Jazz Chorus and has many Broadway musical and film credits. General admission tickets are available for $85 and VIP tickets are available for $150, including reserved seating, a reception and an opportunity to meet the artists. It may seem early to be thinking about Christmas, but Cobb Senior Services is already gearing up for the 4th annual Senior Santa on Dec. 11. This special event is an opportunity for homebound seniors in Cobb to enjoy an afternoon of holiday cheer, food, gifts and fun with others. You can help make this event a success by donating new items to be distributed to the seniors. Suggested items include toiletry items, envelopes and stamps, blankets, robes, canned good, cleaning supplies, gift bags and diabetic treats. The Kennesaw State University Community and Alumni Choir will present its fall concert entitled "That's All Folk...Songs" 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at the Bailey Performance Center, 1000 Chastain Road, Kennesaw. The performance will be under the direction of Dr. Leslie J. Blackwell and feature a variety of folk songs from around the world. The group is a non-auditioned, all-volunteer choir comprised of KSU alumni, faculty/staff and community members. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door or online at ksucac.org.
